Emergency closure prior to start of the day

In the event of emergency closure due to adverse weather the school will inform Heart 102.7 FM and KLFM 96.7 FM radio stations at the earliest opportunity. Depending on the volume of calls being received by the radio station there may be a delay in this information being broadcast. Parents are therefore advised to listen to the radio and even if there has not been official confirmation of closure, decide whether it is prudent for their children to set out on a journey where there is a risk of serious transport disruption.  We will also inform you on Class Dojo.

Please note that it is often difficult to predict the weather and the decision to close the school has to be taken early in the morning (usually by 7.30am). Once the decision has been taken to close the school and the authorities informed, this cannot be reversed even if the weather then improves. Some of the staff do not live in the village and therefore have to drive to work. Some staff live a considerable distance and obviously their safety also has to be taken into consideration.
