Years 3 and 4

Welcome to the Gorefield Year 3 and Year 4 page.

We are The Storm Keeper's Island class.

Miss Freeburn is our teacher.

Mrs Bramley is our learning assistant.

Our PE days are Wednesdays and Friday. Please remember to send in P.E. kits: a team colour t-shirt; plain black leggings, shorts or jogging bottoms; a plain black sweatshirt/hoodie when it is cold; trainers or plimsoles. Please ensure that your child does not wear earrings for P.E..

Children in years 3 and 4 will continue to develop their reading as this opens up so many opportunities for learning and for pleasure.  Please support your child in their reading by listening to them and by reading to them at least 4 times per week. Discussing the text is very important to build their understanding.

All children have a login for Times Tables Rock Stars and must be practising regularly to improve their fluency, an essential foundation to KS2 mathematics. Year 3 children will be learning: 3x, 4x and 8x in addition to 2x, 5x and 10x, which they learned in KS1. Year 4 children need to know all of their times tables to 12 x 12.
