SEND- Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.

Gorefield Primary Academy is an inclusive rural primary school and we believe that all children should be given the best possible opportunities to reach their full potential. We provide high quality teaching, reasonable adjustments within the classroom and additional interventions to ensure the curriculum is accessible for all children.

As a school we provide support for children in the following broad areas:

Communication and interaction

Cognition and learning

Social, emotional and mental health

Sensory and physical needs

The school's information report and SEND policy provide information on what we provide for children who have additional educational needs or disabilities.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (Mrs Hempsall) is responsible for overseeing the assessment and provision of all children with SEND. Mrs Hempsall works closely with teaching staff and teaching assistants to ensure that we give all children the best opportunities in school.  Our SEND governor is Wendy Neale.
