SEND- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Gorefield Primary School is an inclusive rural village primary school. We believe that all children should be given the best possible opportunities to achieve their full potential.
As a school we provide high quality teaching, reasonable adjustments within the classroom and additional interventions to ensure the curriculum is accessible to all children.
As a school we provide support for children in the following broad areas:
- Communication and interaction
- Cognition and learning
- Social, emotional and mental health
- Sensory and/or physical needs
We carefully plan how to use additional support to ensure children achieve the best outcomes, gain independence and are prepared for adulthood.
Admission arrangements and the disability plan can be found in the Governance Umbrella.
Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) is currently Nicola Hempsall, who works in school on a part time basis. The SEND Governor is Sally Bruce.
If you require further Information on Special Educations Needs and Disabilities, or if you wish to discuss your child's additional needs, contact either your class teacher or Nicola Hempsall on 01945 870321.
